NOVIKOV PROJECTS

Brand Identity, Signage & Environmental Graphics
Arkady Novikov—a Russian restaurateur, businessman, journalist, and TV host—currently oversees a restaurant group with 265 locations. I had the opportunity to contribute to two of his projects: developing the brand identity for NINO, a Georgian restaurant in Sochi, and Vysota 5642, a restaurant chain focused on Adyghe cuisine. Both projects were led by my long-time collaborator Rinat Kuzin, the executive director of Novikov Group.

NINO by Novikov | Restaurant Identity

In 2020, even amid the pandemic, new restaurants kept opening. One standout project was NINO, part of Arkady Novikov’s restaurant group, located in Sochi. Named after chef Nino Sulava, the restaurant embraces its Georgian roots. The concept of corporate identity was proposed by a client who asked to make a friendly cartoon on the logo of the Moscow-based Pino restaurant.

My colleague Toma Streltsova designed the lettering and logo, while I developed the brand identity. This included signage, window graphics, patterns, and menus, all prepared for the grand opening.

Vysota 5642 by Novikov – Brand Refresh

Opened in February 2014 by Anton Pinsky, Madina Kanokova, and Arkady Novikov, Vysota 5642 takes its name from the western peak of Mount Elbrus, symbolizing the origin of many seasonal ingredients used in the restaurant.

In 2020, I was tasked with a minor rebranding and the creation of a brand book in preparation for franchising. The redesign involved simplifying the logo and updating the typography. The new brand guidelines outlined principles for interior and exterior design, branding applications, and staff uniform standards.
