Sovetsky Sport

Corporate branding
In 2016, I was tasked with rebranding the iconic sports publishing house, "Sovetsky Sport". With over a century of history behind the brand, this was the 17th redesign of the logo for the publication. Prior to my involvement, the logo had remained unchanged since 2000, resulting in a variety of inconsistent iterations. After discussing the project with the client, we agreed to revive an older logo from 1982 and standardize its use. We also decided to enhance the brand's identity with more bold and powerful graphic elements, in order to strengthen its communication.
The logo for "Sovetsky Sport" is bold and dynamic, with a striking red background that sets it apart. The main logotype, written in flowing, italic Cyrillic script, gives it a sense of movement and energy, reflecting the nature of sports. The contrast between the white script and the red background makes it visually impactful and easily recognizable. The design of the logo is both nostalgic and modern, drawing on the long history of the publication while staying relevant to a modern audience.
Under the patronage of the Soviet Sport team, I was involved in many socially significant sports projects. I prepared logos, presentations, promotional materials, and various communication elements for these projects, including different sports awards and personal brands of famous athletes. I also worked on preparations for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Moscow. For several years, I had the privilege of being part of this amazing team, gaining valuable experience and learning a lot.
